Whole House Humidifiers in Colorado Springs
The dry climate in Colorado Springs often makes it difficult to maintain a healthy amount of humidity in your home even with the use of standard humidifiers. We can help with that!
Springs Heating & Cooling offers whole house humidifiers to keep your home’s humidity at a healthier level. If you or your family struggle with allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions, proper humidification is even more important.
Whole house humidifiers also help maintain the integrity of any wood in your home. If you have hardwood floors or wooden furniture, keeping an appropriate level of humidity in the home will help maintain the wood and keep it from shrinking. This helps prevent cracks between floor joints and in the joints of furniture.
Whole house humidifiers work directly with your home’s HVAC system to distribute water vapor through your home’s air ducts. This allows your entire home to maintain a balanced level of humidity compared to using a small humidifier in each room. Springs Heating & Cooling offers two types of whole house humidifiers:

Whole House Bypass Humidifiers
Bypass humidifiers work in conjunction with your existing furnace system. As the system blows air over a panel in the humidifier, moisture on the panel evaporates and is distributed into your home through the air ducts.
Bypass humidifiers are best for homes that have a forced air furnace, and where the square footage does not exceed around 3000 square feet. When left on with the fan running in the furnace to circulate air, a whole house bypass humidifier will cycle approximately 16 gallons of water per day.

Whole House Steam Humidifiers
Steam humidifiers heat water in order to produce steam that travels through your air ducts and into your home. Steam humidification is the best way to increase the humidity and comfort of your home. Whole house steam humidifiers must be regulated because they release steam directly into the duct work, which is then distributed through the home by the circulation of the air through the ducts. In larger homes with more that 3000 square feet, this is an excellent way to increase and maintain your home’s humidity (particularly if you want to maintain the integrity of any wood in your home).
